The Medley Institute

In the Medley Institute, fashion and design merge to form new, surprising concepts. In 2010, it was founded in Berlin by Jana Patz. To work with materials untypical in fashion, such as wood or porcelain, often serves as a starting point. The creative process is guided by techniques of traditional craftmanship. Interacting with the materials’ specific properties, suitable forms and functions evolve step by step. Different arts contribute to this working method, thus helping to create complex products, objects and accessories. Being multifaceted, they are beyond easy categorization or interpretation. Twice a year, the Medley Institute presents new collections at the Paris fashion week: as valuabe as wearable.
